As the quill drips its ink
upon a new page,
an ending is beginning.
Authors pack up their wares,
Close up shop,
and find another fireside for yarn spinning.
Their words cannot quit.

A 33 word free write for Trifecta this week. I am incredibly grateful for all of the writers whose work I have come to read and follow and love through Trifecta.
That be true.
Sometimes I think that if all there was left to write on was bar napkins and there was no one left to read them, we’d still be putting words on those napkins and throwing them to the wind 😉
Lovely, lovely piece. I love “…and find another fireside for yarn spinning.” That’s just gorgeous.
Well thank you very much 🙂
This is stunning!! I love – upon a new page,
an ending is beginning.
I’m so glad that you liked it, and I thank you for letting me know that you did.
Sure thing, your writing is beautiful, I will look forward to your next post in my reader.
Wow! Fantastic piece. I love the tone and the mood the second stanza evokes. Very nice…
Awesome, thank you so much. I’ve found so many great writers to read through Trifecta that I wanted something that didn’t feel too final, ya know?
Yep!
I’m sure I’ll see many of you on the flip side 🙂
So true. A lovely piece of writing.
Well, thank you very much 🙂 There’s always a fireside in need of a tale or three…
I am particularly enamored of the first stanza! Lovely sentiment and poem.
May our cyber paths cross often and well : )
Absolutely- you’re one of the writers I found through Trifecta that makes me say Wow on a regular basis, so I’ll definitely see you on the flip 🙂
“Their words cannot quit.”
A perfect ending. 🙂
This is pretty! Yes, Trifecta may be going away, but the stories will continue. I’m sure we’ll see many familiar names on other challenges from time to time and we’ll remember Trifecta! (Good to see you on Speakeasy this week 🙂 )
“Authors pack up their wares,
Close up shop,
and find another fireside for yarn spinning.
Their words cannot quit.”
Beautiful and true!Loved this tribute:-)
“cannot quit…” no truer words.
Even if we wanted them to; sometimes those words can be so pesky, with their not-quitting. 🙂
WORD. May the words never quit you.
