Waking at 6:30

I creep around the dark shadowy corners,

Of an early Sunday morning

I’ve no need to displace my world view with the waking of my brain patterns,

Glide around the edges and witness without intervention the subtle lightening of the tattered clouds and the silver-grey holding of the frost on the ground leaves,

Sitting in a corner of my room, sipping strong, hot coffee and smoking a dirty cigarette as the planet slowly joins me for another day,

The wheel spun and stopped on winter

  1. Do you know what a great morning wake up it made for me to see YOU in my inbox? I don’t know if this is because you have scant opportunities to write anymore or if my gmail is still as wonky as ever. Either way, I’m really glad you wrote this. It’s beautiful.

    • Ha, it’s not your gmail and it’s not lack of time, I’ve just been staring into space a lot lately 😉 That morning I literally woke up with words coming out of my brain so I figured write them down BEFORE you start contemplating the meaning of life, the universe, and everything…thank you for the lovely comment, and I’m very glad that you enjoyed it.
